The Dive Log

The story of one diver, told the only way it makes sense — by descending.

The diver behind it

Hi, I'm Sam.

A PADI instructor with a lifelong obsession with the ocean. Growing up I was fascinated by marine life and the fragile systems that hold it together — then I watched those systems start to struggle, and decided I couldn't just keep watching.

Now I combine technical diving with a deep commitment to marine conservation. Every course is built to do two things: make you a genuinely capable diver, and a genuine guardian of the water you dive in.

    Where it started

I grew up more curious about what was under the water than on top of it — turning over rocks in the shallows and holding my breath a little longer every summer.

    The first real breath

My first certification. The moment the sea stopped being a surface to look at and became a place you could actually go.

    Divemaster with Big Blue

Training with Big Blue Divers in the Seychelles — guiding dives through some of the most alive reefs I have ever put my hands near.

    Seeing the change

Dive the same sites for years and you start to notice what has gone quiet. That is when conservation stopped being a topic for me and became the whole point.

    The IDC, Acquasport Lecco

I earned my PADI Instructor rating through the Instructor Development Course at Acquasport in Lecco — one of the first PADI centres in Europe. Now the goal is simple: help the next diver fall just as hard, and look after the water while they are down there.

The first time you breathe underwater, something quietly rearranges. I get to watch that happen — over and over.

How I teach

01

Safety, always

Calm, thorough briefings and skills repeated until they are second nature. Confidence is the real certification.

02

Conservation in every course

You will learn to read the reef and tread lightly — buoyancy, awareness and respect woven straight into the diving.

03

Your pace, your dive

Small groups and one-to-one attention. We move forward when you are ready, and never a moment before.
